
In 2005, I was honored as an Achiever in Letters at the Celebrity Luncheon held by the Santa Clara County Branch of the National League of American Pen Women. It was an impressive ceremony, and I enjoyed meeting all the members and seeing how talented they were. My good friend, Jeanne Carbone, suggested I join, and I have been a member ever since.
We have strong leaders, and I really like the other women in the group. Not only are they fun to be around, but they support my writing and have encouraged me to try new endeavors, like photography. We meet once a month to discuss our fundraising for the Excellence in the Arts Awards and see an inspiring presentation by one of our members.
Once a year we have a large luncheon honoring women in the arts and we fundraise to provide awards to young women talented in the arts. The luncheons are entertaining and informative, and I encourage everyone to attend. Check out our websites:

Our meetings are held once a month in the Headen-Inman Historical Museum House in Santa Clara, California. (Building on the left).
We are proud of the NLAPW headquarters, established in 1897, The Pen Arts Building, and its place among other historic buildings in Dupont Circle, a popular tourist destination in Washington, D.C.
